Transportation Advisory Commission takes a first look at the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the Central District Specific Plan / Zoning Code Revision / General Plan Mobility Element Update  . . .  The Plan documents were prepared with extensive input from members of the community, including PW! members . . .  The document preserves and strengthens most of the walkable, livable cities goals of the 1994 General Plan  . . . After a partial sidewalk ban from the Pasadena City Council last year , the Segway transporter  has failed to materialize as a significant threat pedestrian safety in Pasadena, apparently through low public interest in the device . . . Stay tuned on this one . . .  After months of wrangling the Montana Project gets approval from Council; although improved somewhat from its initial configuration the project continues to confront rather than engage the sidewalk, and seems likely to reduce the pedestrian friendly value of walking area near the Paseo Colorado  . . .

Since 1995 Ped Advocacy organizations have gone from zero to 14, including sister organization El Monte Walks! . . . NEWS . . . PW! co-founder Roger Gray discusses speed of general plan implementation, walkable, livable cities in  Pasadena Weekly  (June 13) . . . NEWS . . . Pasadena Transportation Advisory Commission (TAC) unanimously  recommends establishing a citywide Car Free Friday based on a PW! request . . .NEWS . . . City Staff has begun a Parking Code review, including mandated bike parking spaces as called out in the 1994 General Plan, again at request of PW! members . . . NEWS . . .
