About Us

WHAT WE ARE:
Pasadena Walks! is a private advocacy group working for a walkable, livable, human scale Pasadena.  Our mission is to educate members of the government and the community about the broader value of a pedestrian friendly community and methods to achieve that goal; to advocate before elected and appointed officials for a walkable community; and to promote walking (and the related biking and transit use) as viable alternatives to driving a car in Pasadena. .

WHO WE ARE:
We are all sorts of people from every part of town, with all sorts of reasons for supporting a walkable Pasadena. Some of us are people who like to walk for fun, to enjoy the lovely neighborhoods of our town. Some of us walk for exercise. Some for economy, some because it avoids using fossil fuels or creating  pollution or traffic concerns. Others walk in conjunction with transit. Some of us don't walk much, but bike or run and benefit from having  a walkable community. Some of us support a walkable Pasadena because we know that a walkable city is a much more pleasant place to live, even if we rarely leave our cars!  Some of us recognize that if more of us are willing or able to leave a car at home, there will be less traffic on the road to plague those of us who must drive.  Which sort are you? Whichever sort you are --
